Q. I am fairly new to Krishna Consciousness and try to spend as much time as possible engaged in devotional service. Over the past weeks I have noticed my attachment to Lord Sri Krishna strengthening, but my personal life is often placing obstacles in the way. I often feel frustrated and I feel temple life could be in my future. What exactly the prerequisites or qualifications to live in a temple?
– Josh
A. It is very encouraging to know your attachment to Krishna is strengthening. Regarding your obstacles in personal life the instruction of Bhagavad-Gita is to depend upon Krishna for protection: “In all activities just depend upon Me and work always under My protection. In such devotional service be fully conscious of Me. You will pass over all the obstacles of conditional life by My grace.”
There may be so many obstacles in prosecuting our spiritual life, but we should patiently go forward. As one advances in devotional activities, the process becomes progressively clearer and more encouraging.
Anyone who desires to live in the temple must agree to follow the rules and regulations of that temple without fail. Please contact the concerned authorities of the particular temple you may wish to join.
