Q. I am reading Srimad Bhagavatham. I got a doubt.That is when Krishna was very young that is He might have been 6 or 7 years old,the young gopis did austerity to please goddess Katyayani to get Krishna as their husband.But the gopis were older than Krishna.How was it possible for them to be attracted towards Krishna.Please clarify my doubt. – Durgadevi Panathula
A. The attraction we are discussing is completely spiritual and does not have a tinge of lust. The elderly gopis of Braj were attracted to Krishna in mood of parental love whereas the younger gopis, who were around the same age as Krishna were attracted in the mood of conjugal love.
